Colony of Rhode Island. East-Greenwich. March 18, 1776. Three Shillings. Fr. RI-233. PCGS Choice Very Fine-35 Details. Small Edge Repairs. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 394. Signed by Jas. Congdon, in red, and John Cole. Printed by John Carter. Uniface. 72mm by 104mm. An exquisite note, especially considering the grade. Nicely margined all around with bold black inking throughout, and with an aesthetic nod to a finer numerical grade designation. “Still crisp with excellent embossing to the back,” noted the Ford writer. The note has not diminished in quality or scarcity – 3,000 were printed – and we are certain good things are in order for this note at bidding time.
