Colony of New-York. November 25, 1747. Two Pounds. Fr. NY-121. PCGS Very Good-10 Details. Multiple Repairs, Severed and Reattached. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 3477. Signed by A. Lynsen, C.V. Horne, and Paul Richard. Uniface. Printed by James Parker. Standard size. Two unmarked dumbbell images are part of the imprint to discourage “raising” the value. Its Death To Counterfeit This Bill. A very rare issue, one that saw a modest press run of just 1,250 notes. A trifle tight to the left and bottom face margins, but still an eye-catcher for the grade. A perfectly presentable example of this rarity, and a note that would add greatly to any cabinet. Its overall appearance exceeds the assigned grade to our eyes.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May, 2004, Lot 622. (Ford Price Realized: $891.25)
