Description: Thicker coarse paper. Serial No. 3095. Signed J. DePeyster, David Clarkson, and Ab. Lynsen. Uniface, dark back, numerals 295 inked there. Printed by James Parker. Standard size. Anti-raising device of two dumbbells marked “V.” Its Death To Counterfeit This Bill. From a printing of just 200 notes, with any surviving note of the issue and denomination combination commanding respect from today’s specialists. A note for the ages. The attractive paper plays host to boldly impressed and deeply inked vignettes, with the ink-signed signatures strong as well. Centering is tight for the design but complete around. Likely among the finest known of the issue and denomination. A desirable rarity and an aesthetically appealing note that can be yours, but only if you are willing to stand tall and hold true against the competition.

Pedigree: From The T. James Clarke Collection; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part VIII, October, 2005, Lot 1529. (Ford Price Realized: $1,840)
