Description: Thicker coarse paper. Serial No. 4491. Signed by John Cruger, Wm. P. Smith, and John V. der Spiegel. Uniface, dark back. Printed by James Parker. Standard size. Anti-raising device of one dumbbell marked “V.” Its Death To Counterfeit This Bill, no apostrophe variety. Not as great a rarity as some earlier New-York notes, but finding another in a comparable condition will prove a near-Herculean task. Lively paper, strong designs, and readable signatures – a classic note destined for a classic cabinet.
