Description: Printed by Timothy Green, a second cousin of the Timothy Green listed for prior notes; that earlier Green passed on in 1763. 90mm by 71mm. Laid paper. Serial No. 3663. Signed by John Chester, George Wyllys, and William Pitkin. A lovely Crisp, New note that readily lives up to the PCGS PPQ qualifier. Indeed, it exemplifies the Premium Paper Quality notation. Bold and deep inking, even margins, and a crispness that defines the grade all make for one of the highlights of the early Connecticut issues in the present offering.

Pedigree: Ex New Netherlands Coin Company’s sale of the Affleck-Ball Collections, December, 1975, Lot 120; Obtained from private collector via NASCA (Douglas Ball, agent), July 12, 1976; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May 11, 2004, Lot 555. (Ford Price Realized: $4,600)
