Description: Back imprinted “Printed by Timothy Green, New-London, 1761.” 90mm by 71mm. Laid paper. Serial No. 5725. Signed by John Chester, Daniel Edwards, and William Pitkin. A choice 40 Shillings note, even if cut a little awkwardly at the upper left face. The Ford catalog entertained thoughts of a counterfeit origin for this crisp note, qualifying that thinking by noting “Even if a counterfeit, any note on this series is rare.”
