Colony of Connecticut. June 7, 1776. One Shilling & Three Pence. Fr. CT-195. PCGS Choice Uncirculated-63. No Details, qualifiers noted, though the back of the holder notes “Minor Mounting Remnant.” As illustrated.

Description: Printed by Timothy Green II. 90mm by 71mm. Slit canceled from center bottom to a midway point, otherwise fresh and crisp with bold inking, though the red number and signatures are a trifle faded. Laid paper. Serial No. 2856. Signed by B. Payne. A pleasing specimen that would make a grand beginning, or an equally grand addition to, a great colonial note collection.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XV, October, 2006, part of Lot 8017.
