Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 14. Signed by Large and Hartshorne. Printer unknown. Uniface. 84mm by 46mm. An amazing rarity. This note was unlisted in Newman at the time of the Ford sale, where the writer noted: “the first we have seen in over 20 years of obsolete private scrip study,” and later noting “the condition is less than enormous, but if it is unique, does it matter?” Deeply toned paper and strong inking, with readable signatures. An important note and an equally important opportunity.

Pedigree: Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XVII, March, 2007, Lot 4501. (Ford Price Realized: $1,265)
