Three banks issued notes in this Monroe County town with one being unreported, this charter being highly scarce and the third with roughly 25 known. This 1929 note is one of just five small-size for the bank in the census, all being these Type One $50 designs. It is a charter that is more difficult regarding small-size as well with double the population of large notes. One of the other 1929 fifties last sold in a 2017 offering where a PCGS Very Fine 35 graded example brought $3,525, with the realization preceding dating all the way back to 2007. Of the five known small-size only this piece and the PCGS Graded note are graded above the Fine level and with this being the finest of them we will expect serious collector excitement.
