#1: Typical hobo nickel carver subject (bearded man wearing a derby). An original carving with the punch method used for the hair and beard. Several scratches and rim damage above LIBERTY detract from the eye appeal of this offering.
#2: Two-sided carving on a 1916-P coin. Carved and punched, with a bow tie on the subject and ""squint lines"" behind the eye. Subject is smoking a cigarette. The bison on the reverse appears to have a hat on and an extended beard. Original piece.
#3: Very eye appealing carving. Large ear, altered nose and nicely carved hat with hat band. Hair and beard have been lightly carved and punched and the field has been created with a knurling device. Original.
#4: Attractive carving of a heavily bearded man wearing a derby on a high grade 1914-P nickel. Circular punch used for the beard and hair, and fine lines in the dome of the hat on this original carving."
