The Finer of Just Two Known

Title: 2PE-1 Kingdom of Hawaii Ladd & Co. 1835 HAPAWALU (1/8 dollar). PMG-63.
Description: A Well centered and bold note on both sides. Believed to be a bit nicer than the only other one known.
Overprinted on “Amateur Theater” tickets printed in blue. Crude printed border of square ornaments around hand lettered date 1835 (probably added later) with HAPAWALU centered and autographed in black ink but by Hooper.
Reverse with black circular logo “B.L.H.” (Brinsmade, Ladd, Hooper) seal designed to obliterate “Amateur Theater “black printing on white paper 17/28 mm.
This is the earliest Hawaiian currency and is so much in demand that there have been none on the market since this specimen last publicly sold over 45 years ago. Expect strong bidding on this piece.
