1987 Silver Eagle Struck on a 3-M Sanding Disc. Obverse Brockage. MS-64 PCGS.
The obverse of this “coin” is deep slate gray throughout with a bold pebbly appearance as though a sandblast Proof of yore. The reverse is deep tan with a macerated currency appearance and includes a brockage of the obverse as well as portions of the 3-M -- Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing -- company logo. Highly unusual and one of just a small handful of such errors known; for the completists among us, the following lot contains a reverse brockage of a Silver Eagle on a sanding disc. Have at it specialists, as you won’t have this opportunity often.

PCGS Population: Uncertain; try as the writer might to find it, there was no population data for this issue, PCGS #E9808, at the PCGS website.
