All three half dollars, the first of a design type that would be struck for several years afterward, are gifted with spectacular toning highlights after decades of storage in the old-style cardboard holder. The Philadelphia piece offers superlative peach and orange iridescent highlights throughout, while the Denver coin is chiefly silver-gray and sky-blue on the obverse with a reverse that is pale golden at the center and encircled by rich peach iridescence at the rim. The third-party certified San Francisco coin offers a rich crimson-rose and neon-blue blend on the obverse, while the reverse serves up a pale sky-blue center encircled by deep peach-orange iridescence at the rim. Three beautiful sisters! PCGS #9406 (1946-S only).
