Brilliant, lustrous, and well-struck – this coin wins the trifecta of collecting. Liberty’s head and hand details are well-defined, nearly full in fact, as is the eagle’s plumage. The surfaces and overall eye appeal easily meet the ultra-grade standards. This date represents the first half dollar coinage from the Philadelphia Mint since 1921! Incredibly enough, there are eight finer examples of this date registered at PCGS, all called MS-68 – those are probably ensconced in collections, so setting your sights on a superb MS-67 coin like the present piece seems like the most satisfying alternative. We hope to see you at bidding time!
