The boldly lustrous surfaces of this deep fiery orange gem support a whisper of rich steel blue iridescence on the obverse design high points. The reverse is afire with warm orange-rose and crimson toning highlights in a pleasing and non-distracting manner. With a modest mintage of just under 4.5 million pieces, this Depression-era date owns the lowest production figure of any Denver Mint cent from 1931 to the present day. A worthy specimen that would do well in any advanced collection.
Pedigree: From the Richmond Collection.
