The sparkling golden surfaces of this low-mintage key date eagle offer a rich display of lively sky-blue and peach iridescence strengthened by highly effective cartwheels. A scattering of tiny visible marks accounts for the grade. The mintage for the 1911-D of just 30,100 pieces represents the lowest production tally of any regular-issue date in the design type, 1907-1933; indeed, you must go back to the 1894-S eagle to find a comparably low mintage. Additionally, this date is one of only five within the design type that ranks a Guide Book value of four figures in the VF column. It is worth noting that no example of this date has been certified above MS-65. Eye appeal, color, luster, rarity – this coin has it all!
