Frosty and brilliant on the obverse with a dusting of rose toning at the upper rim area; the reverse is prooflike with frosty central devices and reflective fields enhanced by a peripheral halo of fiery orange-gold iridescence. Struck from heavily clashed dies which impart the chin whiskers to Miss Liberty’s chin area; there are also noticeable die cracks and numerous other clash marks as well. This elusive variety is listed on the Super CD (Clashed Dies) List, one of several lists familiar to VAM collectors and specialists. First espoused in 2005 by Dr. Mark Climpton, the “Super CD” set is comprised of 25 varieties of Morgan dollars exhibiting noticeably clashed dies; the VAM 41C variety as offered here was among the 25 chosen by Climpton to represent the “most extraordinary varieties known to exist” in the Morgan dollar series. A grand opportunity for an advanced VAM Master. PCGS #7070
