Obv: small Liberty Bell divides Minuteman and Civil War-era soldier, 1776 left, 1876 right, CENTENNIAL on ribbon above, all within circle, LET GOD BE WITH US AS HE WAS WITH OUR FATHERS around. Sold in 1876 at the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia; 2,526 pieces were struck at the Mint and sold at the Nevada Building for $1.25 each. A certificate accompanied each sold piece, and read: “Mint of the United States. Philadelphia. Coiner's Department. June 20, 1876. I certify that the Nevada Exposition Medals, prepared in this department, and this day delivered to Mr. C. C. (Signed) A. Loudon Snowden, Coiner.”
