Frosty and lustrous steel-gray surfaces offer pale orange and blue iridescence throughout, as well as a hint of prooflike reflectivity in a bold light source. Sharply struck save for some softness at the wreath bow. Struck from heavily clashed dies, and about as heavily clashed as ever seen for the type. Deep clash marks disturb the field at Liberty’s pole arm and around the date numerals; another almost comical clash mark gives the appearance of a cigar dangling from Liberty’s lips! A truly neat specimen that will soon grace the cabinet of a half die specialist.
