Header: Satiny Choice AU 1852-D Quarter Eagle
Description: A bright and lustrous lemon-yellow quarter eagle with a decided olive cast and no doubt of native Georgia or North Carolina gold. The devices are strong for the date and mint, nearly full on both sides, and the coin is all the more attractive as a result. Surviving examples of the date, perhaps 100 or so all told, are just about evenly spread out across the grading spectrum through VF, EF, and AU. It is fitting to note here that just three grading events have occurred in the Mint State range for this date at NGC, which no doubt places much pressure and demand on choice AU coins. If you’re currently in the hunt for just such a piece, Choice AU, we think you’ll do well to take a look at this coin. Once you’ve looked, you’ll probably join, and hopefully remain, in the bidding until the final hammer.

NGC Census: 11; 3 finer (MS-64 finest).
