1849 Mormon $5 Uniface Copper Obv, K-3 Restrike. “1849” Mormon $5. Uniface. Copper. Obverse Restrike, Kagin-3 Plain Edge. MS-63 BN NGC. The rich orange-brown surfaces enjoy lively luster and splashes of original orange mostly retained in the protected areas. Boldly struck, as well as ever seen and then some when discussing gold examples, with exquisite eye appeal; the miter is boldly textured and the all-seeing eye is flawless in appearance. If contemporary to the gold issues, this piece was painstakingly produced on a perfect planchet with perfect rims. An intriguing item, actually rarer as the gold issues of the same denomination, and worth consideration by Pioneer-Territorial gold collectors and specialists, especially those who can not afford the gold pieces.

Just six or seven pieces known; three of which are impounded.
