This exceptional example of the date and grade combination is largely brilliant with mattelike surfaces, swirling luster, and warm golden tones at the rims. The strike is sharp, right down to the clasp at Liberty’s shoulder and the ringlets on the eagle’s talons. As nice as we can remember seeing for some time at any grade level, and a coin that belongs in an advanced type set or early half dollar collection. Probable Condition Census for the variety. A near-gem worthy of substantial bidding activity! PCGS #6156
