An absolutely lovely early quarter – first impressions count and this specimen is impressive at all levels. The frosty and lustrous lilac-grey surfaces deliver a visual array of lively blue and gold iridescence on both sides. The strike is bold and the high points were diminished only by a short stay in circulation. Undeniably choice throughout and certain to be well-received by our bidders, so please plan accordingly.
Die State IV in Early United States Quarters 1796-1838 by Steve M. Tompkins: “Dies clashed showing arrows above cap, scroll above date, wings in field. First crack heavier with small cuds between star 9 and star 10. (Reverse clashed but not cracked.)”
